Happy New Year from "ST 1"

Hello and Happy New Year to all of you. It has been a busy end of the year for "ST1". It arrived in Virginia in late September then shipped out to California for a few weeks of fun in the sun! While there, it was displayed on the Volvo stand at the Anaheim Auto Show for the unveiling of Volvo's new C70 Coupe/Convertible.

While in California, Matt Stone, executive editor of Motor Trend Classic, ( a new high quality Classic Car magazine http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/classic/  borrowed "ST1" for an article and photo shoot. I just received an advance copy of the issue (January/February 2006) and it is just superb. The article is seven (7) pages with lots of photographs taken while under power through a tunnel (reminds me of the tunnel at Monaco)and still photos taken in the same warehouse where Clint Eastwood's film "Million Dollar Baby" was filmed. Please pick up a copy as you won't be disappointed. Matt also included a few period shots of "ST1" with Sir Roger Moore in the article as well as a brief history of "The Saint". (Minilite also gets it's own paragraph, Don!)

Attached is a photo taken on Christmas Eve in front of it's new home in Virginia.

Best Wishes for the coming year,     Bill Krzastek

Why Roger Moore was so cool.....

Tony Davey located what he believes to be the same type of fan that was installed in the car for studio shots in order to keep Mr. Moore "cool". It fit into the holes found in the rear inner qurter panel. Here's a photo of it installed in the car.

From USA to Poland

Hello,

I bought this car in 2004 in Boston USA. It took one month to ship it to Poland. I had only  seen pictures from the auction and I thought it was in better shape. The whole body was very rusty and most of the holes had been fixed by using fiberglass and putty. After four months of hard work we have finished the body, almost all rust is gone. The brakes have been totally rebuilt. The engine and interior is next  in line. I hope my precious will soon get new paintjob done. On the picture I am the smiling guy to the right.

Best regards

Per-Ove Eriksson from Norrala, Sweden became the Clubs 1800th member

Per-Ove joined the Club in December last year and was lucky enough to become the 1800th member which meant a couple of free gifts from the Club shop.
The picture to the left is from the seventies. P-O was eighteen and had a 1800S 1964 of his own. The car was however sold soon after which P-O has regretted ever since.
He has now decided to buy another one and joined the club to get the benefit of the information and support the club is offering P1800 owners as well as prospective buyers

Sir Roger Moore became a honorary member of the club earlier this year. Click on any of the photos  to see more
